Welcome aboard! Whether you are launching your very first personal blog, setting up an e-commerce store, or deploying a high-performance Node.js application, HostGrap gives you the speed, reliability, and security you need to succeed online.

This guide will walk you through the essential first steps to get your account set up, connect your domain, and launch your website in no time.

Step 1: Accessing Your Client Area and cPanel

Once you complete your hosting purchase, you will receive a Welcome Email containing your login credentials.

1. Client Area: Use this dashboard to manage your invoices, active services, domains, and support tickets.
2. cPanel (Control Panel): This is your server’s command center where you manage files, databases, emails, and security. You can access it directly from your Client Area or via the direct link provided in your email (usually [https://yoursite.com:2083](https://yoursite.com:2083)).

Step 2: Pointing Your Domain to HostGrap

If you registered your domain with HostGrap, it is already configured and ready to go. However, if your domain was purchased from a third-party registrar (like Namecheap or GoDaddy), you need to update your Nameservers to point to your HostGrap hosting server.

Log in to your domain registrar and update the default nameservers to:

• ns1.hostgrap.com (use your specific nameservers from the welcome email)
• ns2.hostgrap.com

Note: DNS propagation can take anywhere from 1 to 24 hours to update globally.

Step 3: Securing Your Website with SSL (HTTPS)

Security is our top priority at HostGrap. Every website hosted with us should have an active SSL certificate to encrypt data traffic and build trust with your visitors.

1. Log in to your cPanel.
2. Scroll down to the Security section and click on SSL/TLS Status.
3. Select your domain and click Run AutoSSL to issue a free, automated Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate.

Step 4: Installing WordPress or Your App

Most users prefer building their websites using WordPress. You can install it in less than a minute without any technical hassle:

1. Inside cPanel, look for the Software section and click on Softaculous Apps Installer.
2. Find WordPress and click Install Now.
3. Fill in your details (Site Name, Admin Username, Password, and Admin Email).
4. Click Install, and your site will be ready instantly! You can now log into your WordPress dashboard at [yoursite.com/wp-admin](https://yoursite.com/wp-admin).

(If you are deploying a custom Node.js application instead, you can use the Setup Node.js App manager in cPanel to configure your application root and startup file.)

Step 5: Creating Your Professional Email

Stand out to your customers by using an email address that matches your domain name (e.g., info@yoursite.com instead of a generic Gmail account).

1. In cPanel, click on Email Accounts.
2. Click Create, select your domain, enter your desired username, and set a strong password.
3. Click Create, and you can instantly access your webmail or configure it on your phone or Outlook.
